Good Company: a Vocal Ensemble, was founded in 1995 by Director, Karen Weaver.  Ms. Weaver’s original idea for the group was to gather singers to study and master unique pieces from the choral chamber repertoire. In June 1995, the group made its public debut. The ensemble now has 25-30 members and presents 2-3 concerts each year. Our musical focus is on performing madrigals, motets, contemporary works and other intimate vocal arrangements.

Good Company has performed with composers Robert Page and David Conte. The group has also participated in community events including the Chevrei Tikva Interfaith Pride Service, the Gala National Choral Festival, Cleveland Museum of Art Concert Series, University Circle Holiday CircleFest, Evensong Services at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and Rocky River Chamber Music Series.

In August 2014, the group was one of only 3 local choruses invited to perform a set at the Gay Games 9, Big Cleveland Sing at Playhouse Square. In January 2015, Good Company celebrated its 20th Anniversary by presenting a concert with the 2 other groups from the Gay Games, Northcoast Men’s Chorus and Windsong.

In May 2016, we premiered “Night Prayer,” a piece commissioned for Good Company and composed by David Conte. We are honored to announce that our live recording of “Night Prayer” will soon be used by the publisher to promote the work.

Good Company is proud to have Michael Carney as Music Director.   After serving in 2016 as an interim director Michael has been chosen to serve as our official Director of Music.
